I have an E240 Estate,Year 2000. The SRS warning lamp stays illuminated and the 'passenger airbag off' orange light in centre console is illuminated.

My local garage (non merc) reckon it needs a new seat sensor which is going to cost an arm and a leg to supply and fit as the leather seat needs dismantling etc.

Anyone got any ideas before I have this done????

It is normally the connector under the seat that need attention and not the seat sensor

Yep, sensor itself on 210 E class models, although the laters ones (230, 211 etc) do suffer from the connectors.
