Stalling.

I have a 1990 300te, starts and runs perfectly but sometimes if I have to stop it stalls on driving off and is reluctant to start. If/when it restarts drives ok but stalls again when slowing down and usually cant be restarted until 15/30 mins later. I have fitted new petrol filter and replaced the pump relay. Is the next step to replace petrol pumps or are there other things to try first? Would be grateful for any advice. TIA.

The torque converter clutch inside the transmission might be the problem. You should get ready for some transmission repair.
