- Your Mercedes
- 1990 500SL, one day
Merry festivities to all.
Hoping to get back to Mercedes in the New Year after a long break. Previously had a couple of W123's but these seem a little out of my budget these days, shame as the best cars I've had. Anyhoo I'm trying to persuade myself that a big barge is a 'good' idea.
To that end I'm looking at W220 320 CDI preferably as late as possible, or if being sensible a W211 estate, also 320 CDI. I'm mechanically competent enough, if possibly a little short of bodywork patience So my question is how sensibly are these home mechaniced these days? Do I really need a STAR clone and laptop (more £££) or will a Carsoft suffice? What should I look for other than history, history, history and usual checks?
Thanks all.
