Hi, sorry if this has already been asked and answered. My start stop doesn't seem to work, The light on the switch is green, the light on the clocks is always yellow yet it never seems to kick in.

Has anyone any thoughts as to why this may be or has anyone else ever had this with theirs?

Check battery voltage! My Start/Stop didn't work for a year (thank god) but came back to life when I changed the battery,

Stop start is a lousy invention designed to cause excess wear to engine and starter mechanism. Some buses have it and sometimes it stops the engine for a second or so. Utterly ridiculous.

I'm always bemused why anyone would want to get Start/Stop working if it has failed?
I honestly don't want it working again, if for any reason I trade it in for another up to date Merc then I will want it working again

I wouldnt be concerned about that either because it will not be something that is looked at and will make no difference to your trade in price.

I am not against Start/Stop technology because it can be useful at times, but ONLY when the vehicle has a manual gearbox which means the activation is completely controllable by the driver.
I honestly cannot get my head round anybody who thinks the way Start/Stop operates in conjunction with an automatic gearbox is in any way helpful or logical.:rolleyes:o_O

Smoke n mirror crxp and just somat else to think about when not working. Only use I see. Is, my understand that it's disabled during regen. So a possible indication that regen is going on. But as my 2nd reaction getting in is to off it. I never really know. Right now I rely on icarsoft, which gives km since last regen, so I have some idea.

Start/Stop wears out your timing chains/sprockets etc, apparently. I always disable mine when I get in the car.

Believe there is a decicated battery in the rear just for the stop start (in my estate there is) so need to change two batteries rather than one.
