I have been having problems with starting my 1991 300 sl 4 speed automatic it starts ok most times but on occasion when I turn the key power is there but it does not turn over, lights dont dim (new battrey recently)so I move the gear selector a few times and then it starts could it be the starter inhibtor switch sticking or can anyone sugest someting else. Has anyone fitted a new switch to a 300sl if so can you give me some tips it seems fairly accessible from below as I have sprayed WD40 on it today to see if that cures it
