Hello all,
Took the 207 out today. Parked up in local car park, went to dentist and when I got back I started her up. Starter engaged, made noise then nothing. Dead. Repeated attempts to no avail. RAC called. Batt good. Not immobilised either. Suspect failed starter. He tested relays etc, power goint to starter. Still on car park. I have recovery on the RAC booked for tomorrow. So question - do I attempt myself (have it recovered home) or straight to MB Tech Warrington? Would it be a big job? I am happy to attempt myself if starter and straightforward. Nothing noted on icarsoft which luckily was in the boot. A207 with M273. Cheers!

Well, car on the way to MB Tech Warrington! What a faff, as it conked in a tight car park, it took two well built RAC chaps to manoeuvre 2 tonnes of car out of the space to line it up to the transporter! Lets see what the diagnosis is 'in due course'!

Spoke to MB Tech yesterday. Definitely a starter replacement. They presented 2 options re parts. One an MB part at £310 and the other aftermarket at £120. I like this indy as they always give options . He recommended the MB part as he didn't recognise the aftermarket make. I took his recommendation so its £490 fitted. Not too bad in my opinion. Should pick up Thursday all being well.

Starter replaced and all is well with the 207. Top marks to MB Tech Warrington for fitting me in and receiving the poorly car on a transporter. So, I had a hire car from the RAC. Either us MB owners are spoilt with nice, well made vehicles or the Nissan Juke I had is generally AWFUL! What a poor quality, rattly and nasty car. To be fair I didn't need a courtesy car, but for some reason I ticked that box when renewing the breakdown so why not! In comparison to my partners 13 plate Estate Agents company workhorse Ford Fiesta - the fiesta wins hands down for build and refinement! Never thought I'd ever say that. Happy that the summer toy is back and working and will be treated to a spring valeting and fuss on Saturday for the summer season!
