starting problem

i have a funny starting issue on 316cdi sprinter 2000 model
seems to happen in summer time?

insert key and a warning comes up "start" and then "errror"

kinda makes a clicky sound as if the starter is jammed and then 1 click from behing the dash on passenger side.

sometimes it just dus that and then u try again and it starts

sometimes we have to disconect the battery over night, then it start first time next mornign???

anybody have any ideas or clues on this 1?????????????//
