HI ALL!

I'm new here, So a Big Hello!

Well i just become a very proud owner of a Mercedes Benz recently...I only wish it happened sooner...Theirs no going back.

Well i might have to...OK the problem i found is that when about 80 % of the time when i go to start the car it turns over then cuts off. After a number of attempts and pumping the fuel the car manages to start.

Can anyone please help or advise...

Same starting problem

Hi, I've also got a similar problem with my E280. When I go to start it, it sometimes starts for about a second and then just cuts out. After a couple of retries, it starts up fine. Sometimes it just starts fine first time. It is just a bit embarrassing when you go to start up your merc in front of people who are admiring your car!!

Anyway, people have suggested lubricating the flywheel etc etc, but after discussions with a merc engineer, he says that won't help. He thinks my battery is now dying and it needs replacing. When I go to start the car and the it does not start, the interior lights (when I leave the door open) do seem to be fading as if there is not enough battery power.

I will replace the battery next week and monitor it.

Try turning the ignition on until the glow plug warning light goes out before you try and start the car if the glow plug light comes on after the car is started one or more of the glow plugs are not working
