Steering box leak

Hi. Can anyone please tell me how to remove the oil seal from the steering box of a 1983 230E?. I suppose I'll have to remove the steering box from the car. I've already removed the heat shield and now I can see ATF leaking from the seal around the shaft to the steering wheel. Thanks in advance.
