'Steering Gear Oil' fault message

Starting getting this message yesterday during a weekend away. Guess it's power steering fluid level low, but wondered if just a top up or full replacement of fluid required.

Advice appreciated

usually just topping up required, but I would look for a leak if you need to top up again they should not loose fluid.

I should have mentioned it could be a faulty sender, check level is actually low first.
