Seems to be a common problem with the c class, 07 should still be under warranty, ring around a few of the other dealers and ask about your problem..

most roads camber to the left to shed water to the drains so it would highlight a small tracking misalignment more than it would the right

Tracking is a symmetric error or setting, and so cannot of itself produce asymmetric behaviour like pulling to one side, although it can offset the steering wheel from the central position if the error is not equally disposed between left and right wheels.

When the OP said the car had been aligned, did this just mean tracking, or was this a more serious check of the 3D alignment of each of the four wheels?
