Afternoon All.
After hearing an intermitent noise when turning right, I called out the RAC and he confirmed that I had a power steering oil seal leak on the near side of the steering rack. The noise is not constant and at the moment it's not hard to steer.
Can anyone please reccomend a solution and would adding leak stop actually work?
Thanks
Steve

A solution might be to replace the leaking seal.
Without seeing it there isn't much else to say.

Stop leak stuff has mixed results but again we don't know how bad it is and the result might be short lived.
Good luck.

Hi All. Thanks for the replies. Put in some of the plug stuff in today so will get it checked in a couple of weeks and see if the level is good. I lost a small amount of the fluid so we will see!!
No more steering noise so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I went through this problem on my Saab . Best to have it looked at,, some seals can be replaced with the rack in place .But my fluid leak was in side the rack , and as the seals leaked fluid then filled up the gaiters , and when on full lock, the pas oil was squirting out on to the road as gaiters closed on the one side or the other .I never saw a leak on the floor wnen it was parked up. Rebuild fixed mine .And snake oil, wont do a thing i tried it .
