Hello,

i have a 94 C 220 with amg body kit...

i have numerous problems with it... when i go over 80 or 90 the steering shakes likes its going to come out....
to solve this i have done teh following:

changed bushings
put new tyres
changed jammed shock absorber & spring
changed ball bearings
fixed tie rod
done balancing & alignment 10 times !!!
changed power steering fluid

WELL AS YOU CAN SEE ITS BEEN A COMPLETE DISASTER FOR ME & AN EXPENSE BORNE HEAVILY:roll:

the only thing remaining which can cause the steering to shake are the RIMS:rolleyes:

i checked out the rims from one guy & he told my front right rim is damaged as well as rear both.

i have attached a file showing the low the car is... you might get a good idea of the modificatin of the suspension systems... i think that the front shock absorbers are pretty soft...

some help will be greatly appreciated

In your list of things replaced you did'nt mention "steering damper" this if faulty can deffinately cause steering vibration, not sure on price but very easy to replace.

3 damaged rims - depends on what the damage is. It ranges from a slight scuff to being bent!
3 badly damaged rims could imply an impact so I'd also have the cars geometry laser checked to ensure the chassis and suspension is straight!

THE VEHICLE IS DANGEROUS, If any thing happens as a result of the faulty wheels you should be prosecuted, especialy since you know and have told us that they are defective.

Defective or damaged tyres are one of the most common cause of accident due to mechanical faliure, you have 3 rims which could cause catastrophic tyre faliure.

Most importantly how will you feel if some one is killed by your car?

:( i agree with you... you are right... that is why i spent almost 2000 dirhams on repairing the fault... i already gave you a list of what i have changed to fix this... faulty wheels is not very common no wonder i had to do so much to find the problem... i will try to fix it when i get some money & will give you feedback...

Can you borrow a set of wheels from someone else? It would at least eliminate the rims as a source of your problem. Have you spoken to a main dealer or specialist in the UK? Might provide some more clues.

Anyway, If you can't get to the bottom of the problem, there is one alternative. Buy a used S500. They must be 10 a penny in UAE, especially now that the new shape is out :)
