Steering wheel/ indicator arm removal question. C180 classic

Can anyone help me. I have a 1996 C180 Classic and i need to get to the indicator arm mechanism. Do i need to remove the steering wheel and if so how. If not, how can i repair/replace the indicator arm?

yes you do need to remove the steering wheel,with air bag. Turn engine off and leave for ten minutes,then carefully remove two bolts from back of wheel and place it right way up. remove stalk. Good luck
