Hello all
Hope everyone is keeping well
Just a quick question
My car has picked up a steering wheel wobble when on the motorway starts at around 50 mph so last week I had the wheels balanced
The guy at the tyre place said my tyre is misshaped
He shown me on the machine , since having it balanced it’s got worse
Could the car not moving much during lockdown cause this ?
Thanks

Unlikely, straddling speed bumps and / or pot holes will most likely be the cause.

How big are your alloys? 18"-20" and they're asking to bend / crack on the roads we "enjoy"...

Good size, I bent one of my 16”‘S on a pothole I couldn’t avoid.

So you think it’s the wheel ?
I thought it was the tyre

Rubber bends pretty easily, aluminium not so much. Could be tyre damage have it changed and see if the issue goes away.
If the tyre guy said the tyre was misshapen why did he balance it?

No amount of balancing will ever fix an egg shaped tyre or wheel.

When he had it on the machine was the rim running true or was it just the tyre?

Not sure
It looked like the tyre to me but I wasn’t that close to see properly
