Hi my Dad has a Merc C240 Auto, it has a blaupunkt stereo in it, but the display is broken, I have replace the stereo in my car, so thought I would fit my old one in Dads car.

Would the blaupunkt be a standard stereo, and how do I get it out

you need a couple of removal tools

for a blaupunkt. Halfords or any decent auto spares shop has them. Like a couple of u shaped bits of metal with notches in. They slide into the four holes( two either side) of the display. You'll feel them catch, then just ease the radio out and disconnect the aerial and other bits. If your Dad's car has iso fittings ( if it's a 202 or 203 it will have), then most modern radios ought to fit. You don't say what yours is, but if it's a Becker ( Merc standard fit, msot models) then it should go in ok.

Done that, but now I have no power going to the stereo, I remember now, there was a prob with the stereo draining the battery, dad took the car to MB they told him that the stereo was at fault, and they had pulled a fuse, what fuse would it be, how big is the fuse and where would i find it?

Thx in advance

I can't remember where the radio fuse is

on my 202, but I know there is a box in the front and one in the boot. Could be a case of look in the handbook. There should be a diagram/list in the lid of the box telling you which fuse is for which item.

if it's in German

german for radio is radio, thankfully. Look for Radio or Kasseten-radio or something like that.
