Central locking works using the fob. Unlocking - driver's door, button trys to unlock then locks itself and the other locks so I use the key. It's an intermittent problem that seems to resolve itself in the warmer weather. Read most of the posts and it would appear to be lubrication of the arm attached to the button???
Sprayed WD40 but couldn't say whether it helped, it certainly isn't an instant cure. Before I take the door panel off to investigate I was wondering if anyone had further suggestions.

I removed the rear panel last year to replace the window reg/motor brushes.
I think I'd rather remove an engine than an interior panel!

Thanks, Mike

Look for my post of about a month ago titled "bouncing button".

The problem may be caused by a sticky grommet on the locking mechanism, if so my cure worked and takes only 5 mins without removing the door panel.

Alec

ps if you cannot find it repost.

Thanks Alec,

I might try the Halfords lubricant as the WD40 isn't doing the job. Having said that Iv'e only tried spraying round the button, letting it run down. I tried unscrewing the button but it wouldn't budge. Now I know it is screwed on I will try again and find a tube as you suggest.

My car is a 2002 c class and the button unscrews. I needed a pair of plairs to get it started. Start with a long piece of tube to find out how far down it will go.

Thanks again Alec, it will be the weekend before I get round to it.
