Hi, have posted this before but after initial response no answers!
I need to replace washer fluid pump motor & don't know how to get to it.
Car is 2002 C Class C180 Estate. Washer bottle appears to be under nearside front wing.
Do I remove wheel or front bumper to gain access?

Malcolm, could you email me the ones for the 2000/2001 CL500 as well please? I've got low pressure and want to start off my flushing the washer bottle first. many thanks

Sorry MB Tech the bumper has to come off on a 203

i work on these cars day in day out.

ive fitted plenty with out removing bumper

the working instruction may say you remove the bumper,

the same working instructions state bumper is needed to be removed to fit a nsf fog lamp on a 203, but it does not.

Well I do not know then how you get to the bolt at the bottom of the water container with the bumper on.Its under the headlamp

Any way I did not write these instructions out

Is not the difference here that you can get to the washer bottle without taking off the bumper, but you cant take the bottle out without taking the bumper off

he does not need to remove the bottle to remove the pump, as per his original post,

when you actually work on said vehicles you tend to learn these things,
most of the working instructions you refer to have ways around them,

Two things here, had you said that you that you can get to the pump without taking off the bumper that would have been clearer for the OP and me, for I would have then read the papers.

Another member joined the thread and he wanted to flush his out, and that would mean taking it off to do it properly, so I sent the same papers out to both.

You might be surprised at how many cars I have worked on
But no I have not done much on a 203, but oddly enough I have updated 202 fog lamps with the bumper on.

Sure you are in a better position than me as you work on them all.

I provide a free service and send out on average 20 work sheets per day. Its up to the OP to read what I send and if they can get to what they want without further dis assembling then fine, I cant read every paper all the way through. No one on any other forum does what I do, to help members by sending these papers out.

the guy asked how to get to his washer pump,

i explained how to do this, by not removing the bumper,

you then stated "Sorry MB Tech the bumper has to come off on a 203"

but it clearly does not,

i answered the guys question then you told me i was wrong,
you answered the guys question wrong,

pretty simple really.

i too am trying to help people, by giving them my experience

Let it pass MB tech, its one of those things, OK I think that when the folks got the papers they would soon see that the bumper did not have to come off,and you did point this out
