The above car was removed after theives broke into my home in Kingswood Surrey stole the keys then the car.
I am offering a £500 reward for information leading to the recovery of the above vehicle.
It is easily distinguishable as it has privacy glass & AMG Body (looks like a ML55).
The vehicle is fitted with a tracker.

sorry to hear that. Unfortunately stealing the keys is the only way to get round the immobiliser, these days.

Given that it's fitted with a Tracker, can't they recover it??

I understand and accept that current security systems fitted to vehicles require the keys in order that the vehicle can be taken. There are however, the minus points such as breaking into your house to steal the keys. You must be well gutted, not only is your vehicle stolen but to have the extra burden of an house burglery must be the pitts. Why can the vehicle not be found if its fitted with tracker? I have been toying with the idea of having tracker fitted to my vehicle but if it was stolen I dont now if I`d want it back.

Hi,
I know this sounds like medicine after death, but may come in useful to others, or to you in the future. Get a safe and keep your spare car keys in the safe. Other members of your household can have spare keys to or know the combination of the safe so they can get the keys if they need to.
This way even if they steal the safe they wont be able to get at the car keys to drive their 'loot' from your house. If it's a nice bulky safe I don't think they would even try stealing it.

I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune. Stealing a car in this manner usually means it was targeted by professionals. You were probably followed home at some point in the past.

Being professionals, the thieving scumbags are probably more than aware that a vehicle like that is likely to have a tracker. Unfortunately, the car was most likely to have been driven immediately into a container, ready to be shipped abroad or broken for spares.

The tracker obviously won?t get a signal until it leaves the container at the other end. Unfortunately it won?t be of much use to you or the authorities finding out that the vehicle is being driven round somewhere in Somalia or Columbia or some such lawless state in six months time.

They say every cloud has a silver lining and I think in this case, yours is the fact that you probably weren't burgled by a domestic burglar as such, so unlike with normal burglaries, where the thief often returns at a later date to pinch what he/she couldn?t carry the first time, you will probably find they wont be back.....unless of course they spot another piece of highly sought after exotica parked up outside your house again.

Mind you, having said all the above, even the dummest burglars are realising now that they no-longer nead to go 'equiped to steal' by carrying a crowbar to get into people's houses now. All they need to do is borrow that bamboo holding up your runner beans, poke it through your letterbox and use it to lift your keys off the table by the front door.

Beefing up you overall house security is best.

Danger with a safe is they hurt you to get you to open it.

Making you house unattractive to break in to seems the only way, always garaging cars helps.

Sorry about your car theft glad you are okay.

No I am not saying you should lock your keys in a safe everynight and mind you, when I say safe I am not talking about those large bank vault style things with lasers you see in the movies :) .... I am saying it is generally not a good idea to leave your keys in the hallway -like Spike said all they need is a piece of bamboo or a hanger.

Put your spare keys in the safe and keep the originals with you i.e take them up to your bedside table at night. If you are going out without the car and you feel the keys are too bulky to take along, lock them in the safe, the extra two minutes may save you a lot of stress later.

Burglars will not hurt you to get the keys. Burglars come when you are not in. ROBBERS come when you ARE in so it makes no difference whether you have a safe or not. The ratio of robberies (I hope) is much lower than burglaries.

Before I am corrected I used the definitions of burglars and robbers loosely. Generally when people say they are burgled they mean they had their home robbed when they were not in. This does not mean a burglary can not occur when you are in, but it is in this context I use both words

Sorry to hear about you car,
If you have seen the TV programme 'To catch a theif' you would invest in a key press (lockable cupboard) for all your keys.
Scum ( for thats what they are) like to be able to get out of the house with ease so they can take more loot. Leaving door keys and window keys lying around is asking for trouble. If you don't need your keys then lock them away (you will also know where they are and won't spend ages in the morning searching for your keys. It is a pain but so is having all your stuff nicked.

Sorry to hear about your loss......

I work in Kingswood for Legal & General, so if you fancy a lift in a rather fetching E430 just give me a shout...
