Travelling to work the other day i collected a stonechip on the windsreen. This has unfortunately caused quite a mark and was wondering if anyone has
any solutions like a resin that can be applied either by oneself or by a professional. I just don't want this to get any bigger thus causing a screen change. By the way, this chip is on the drivers side but not in the line of vision. Many thks

Most windscreen replacement companies and Halfords do a free repair service. Tell your insurers as most prefer you to go down this route first before shelling out for a new screen.

In theory they can do "invisible repairs", although in my experience this really isn't the case. It depends on where and how big the chip is. Certain positions will make it an MOT failure.

On the whole though they can be repaired. Stumpy is completely correct it should be covered by your insurance company. Check with them. I had plenty done on the Audi, it seemed to attract stones! Failing that just pop along to somone like AutoGlass and they'll do it whilst you wait. Even if you need to pay it will be cheaper than a new screen.

We had the E220 done recently. The repair is fine and in our case was near the tax disk holder so clarity wasn't an issue. If it had been in the main line of sight, I think the repair would have been inaequate as it is still visible, but structurally the screen is 100% again.
All depends on where it is.
We rang the ins co and they sent out RAC windscreens who did it on site. No charge.

They almost all do a no charge repair (Autoglas and RAC definitely do) as a goodwill gesture hoping that you will use them when a windscreen goes.

Autoglass were in the local Tesco car park last week offering a free while you wait service for such repairs.

I agree with the above, contact your insurance and get a screen repair in the first instance. These are free under comprehensive insurance and also saves you the ££ and hassle of a replacement screen. Assuming of course it is not large and outside of your field of view.
I have had two repairs, and post a trip to Winchester I now need another repair. You do need to get the repairs done fast otherwise any crack can grow rapidly and also to keep hole as clean as possible.
