The main questions have to be 1) How long do regard it as a Stop Gap (or is that a piece of string) and 2) what is most important to you? i.e.:
- The residual value in x months/years (i.e.: for resale/part-ex etc)
- Having the latest model
- All the toys - which you already have on your S600
It would drive me barmy if I had all the stuff one day and didn't even have the essentials on the next.
But you should maybe try throwing it back at them saying you think the spec is too low/and miles too high and as you haven't had time to fully evaluate the S600 they should hold the offer until 1 x week after you get the S600 back from the dealership.
- You don't ask, you don't get! They can only refuse!
Good questions David,
-What would probably be perfect would be 2-3 months time so I can get used to the 600 put a few thousand miles and see what it was all about. Having said that would the 600 dilute the impact of getting the 65 as the 600 is my first s class.
-I definitely do not want to get to hurt with resale and I am hopeful the level I purchased at would mean that I can get in and out with out losing my pants. Would potentially put it up sale or return soonish at a reasonable price so I am not stuck with both for a long time.
-As shallow as it sounds I do like thinking I have the "Daddy" when it comes to the w221 s class and I love the sound and the wheels/extra stopping power.
-I do love the toys and that's one of the reasons I chose my s class rather than some others that were cheaper as I am a kid at heart!
You are correct about having the toys one day and not the next but as I haven't really had my 600, ive driven a total of 4 times but what would pee me off is if a better spec one came up a month or 2 down the line but the flip side is I don't see one for an age and i kick myself for not pulling the trigger.
The 65 is also a private one and has no connection to my 600 so can't really leverage any time with mine.
Where is a crystal ball when you need one!
