Is it recommended to added kerosene based white spirit to veg oil and let it stand for a while? If so, what's the ratio?

Does this help with high ratio veg oil/diesel cold starting?

As far as I am aware there is no point to adding kerosine or white spirit to fuel just before use. It thins the oil, but you may as well as diesel as it is cheaper and has the same effect. If you are using waste oil, then adding the white spirit before standing (for at least a couple of weeks) can help precipitate the animal fats that can gum up the filter etc.

A diesel
I believe the ratio is 3ml to 1 litre, then leave to stand for one week.

White spirit and high ratio veg/diesel cold starting

To summarise - It's not worth adding white spirit to Rapeseed oil, you're just as well using diesel as the additive.

CAn someone confirm or clarify this?

Thanks,
