strange button in boot under parcel shelf on w124

I have got a button that relates to the alarm system on my e220 w124 (195 model).
As you look in the boot it is felt under the parcel shelf area of the ca on the left hand side.

I have tried pushing it, but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Any ideas?

That'll be the button that you press if you ever get bundled into the boot by a gang of masked hi-jackers!!

More Strange buttons in W124s

I also have a strange push button switch, but under the dashboard, to the right of the steering wheel, above the accelerator pedal. It is something to do with the alarm, but I've never worked it out. It doesn't seem to change anything.
It looks like a light should come on inside it, its the size of a 50p coin.
Mine is a 95 E320 Cabriolet (C124).
Any ideas? Thanks
