how do all merry christmas not much to write about apart from a srange sound coming from the near side rear wheel/ suspension area of my 2001 230CLK its now got 107000 miles on it running fine handles great still its just making a sound like a flat thin piece of sheet metal that when you flex it and it pops back into its flat original shape makes a boing sort of noise , thats the best i can describe it. It makes this when the rear wheel just gets on a speed bump or it dips into a pot hole or drain or something like that . i jacked it up yesterday and as the jack took the weight it made it again i took the wheel off and checked all fittings and the spring looks ok the exhaust isnt hitting anything and everything feels tight and solid could it be a damper or bush when its back on the ground the suspension settles nicely when pushed down on the rear quarter. like i say it drives and handles fine any sugestions what this could be

ohh yeah and the temp indicator is playing up showing half numbers

Second one today,, give the roll bar bushes a few good squirts of silicon, could be better to jack the side when doing it to relieve any pressure on it. Silicon is very good for rubber

All MOT testers look hard for broken springs, and you would be lucky to get away with one on a test

Hi Rob, suggest you give MB Tech in Warrington a ring. I'm sure they will give you all the info you need. If you want the telephone number, I will go and get it.

Had my C class serviced at the weekend by a good indie. Needed both rear springs replacing and was charged £40 each for the springs (they are black, by the way), plus labour. Total inc VAT and fitting around £150. She's sitting better and no "boing" now.
