Hi,

I have a merc c180 p reg, which has suddenly developed a squeeky noise is the best way to describe it. Also when you push down on either frontside it squeeks , also when turning the steering wheel either left or right when stationary, yep its squeeking.
Can anyone suggest what the problem maybe , by the way it clocked 102.000.
all replies appreciated.

thanks

Hi Sara

It could be any number of front suspension components, Most likely anti roll bar bushes or lower ball joints.

Needs to be listened to on a ramp/pit to be 100%

S 280
Hi all, Just joined the group Maybe you guys can advise me. My S280 makes a pretty loud clunk when you turn to the right and even sometimes left. It has just had a service but the garage says when its up on the ramp it doesnt do it so they can't put their finger on it. Any ideas.

S class
The 220 S class has twin botttom ball joints, the rear joint tends to wear, but tends to set up a chattering vibrating sound on certain road surfaces, sometimes the sound can be mistaken for the suspension air compressor coming in... turn the steering to full lock, car stopped , engine running and gently shake the steering wheel against the stop and you should feel and hear the play..
