Morning

I'm having a couple of problems with my 190e 2.6, basically it is occasionally stalling.

It does this at very specific times:

Starting from cold - fine
Starting warm - fine, although occasionally will backfire through intake when starting it up when warm.

After a longish drive, park up and return to the car half an hour later, starts fine then stalls when stopping and revs drop to idle. This continues for about 3-4 minutes, stalling every time it comes to a rest and the revs drop to idle speed.

Then as if by magic, all is fine and doesn't stall for the rest of the journey.

Rotor arm/dizzy replaced about 5k ago
Leads are newish
Fuel distributor replaced 3k ago
Spark plugs new
IACV has been cleaned and tested - all ok
OVP replaced with secondhand unit (that did improve the dodgy idle issues it had previously)

I'm thinking it could be the crank position sensor?

Any advice?

Cheers Brian

Thanks Malcolm

After it stalled again last night I parked up and had a proper dig around the engine bay with a torch.

While opening the throttle I heard a faint intake sound from the area near the headlight and discovered a vacum pipe disconnected. Turns out to be for the fuel vapour evaporator in the passenger wing.

I plugged it with gaffer tape initially and this has solved the problem. Will reconnect the pipe this weekend in daylight.

Thanks for the advice though, is appreciated.
Brian
