The 300D I just bought has almost totally stripped head from previous attempts at either undoing it it or tightening it up with an open ended spanner or simialr. My 13mm socket fits over but there isn't enough grip to force it to undo. Suggestions please.

I now know why the oil is black and ugly. Managed to do new fuel filter and inline filter (main fuel filter looked like it was original!) and the air filter no too bad. The car runs much more smoothly and with more verve! I also tightened the accelerator cable using the large white cylinder until there was no slack in the excess cable with the spring "vibration" absorber. This seems to have solved most of my "hesitation", but still not perfect. Any ideas please advise.

CAL.

First buy new sump drain plug+washer!!!!! :D Then butchery required. :( Get old/cheap socket slightly too small and drive it on dont damage the sump casting  OR file/grind some flats on to the old plug OR try a mole wrench OR buy one of those vacuum suction oildrainers and suck out oil thro dipstick :!: .

You could always leave it there and invest in a suction pump to suck the oil out through the dipstick tube.
