A class w169
Got the new hatch switch and converter lead
Just can’t see how it fits ! The outer plastic seems attached to the frame of the bulb holders. Amy help very grateful. Thanks

Only thing I could see was to dremil away the plastic and fit the switch in. Glue in with black glue. No way is this a direct replacement as someone said.

The new release button will never fit into the pre-facelift tailgate handle.
You need to buy a facelift handle.

PS A new handle, complete with new type release button and new number plate lights, would have been not much more, than the release button on its own ... at least that was the case four years ago.

Swell . It’s in now and working. The only parts that were mentioned were switch and cable ! May as well have bought a used one from ebay
Can you tell me which wires are for the number plate lights. Seem to be off. thanks.

Well, it couldn't have been me to say only release button and adapter cable required.
I suspect you would still have to buy a facelift handle from eBay, once you discover the marriage of old handle and new button is not watertight. As to the number plate lights: the plugs are different and although re-pinning and modifying plugs is certainly possible, even I wouldn't go that route - too much hassle for no reason.

Sorted in the end. As usual. Expect an hours job turns into 4 !
