My friend has used one. Mercedes engines were designed to use top siders. He 'sucked' the oil out once, and got more out with a top sider than draining normaly.

Top siders are not that expensive either.

Merc, I bought one and it is **** hot. Just run the engine up to temp, poke the pipe in , a few pumps and hey presto! Just be aware of the capacity- it may not hold a sump full at one go. With the oilfilter being on top it makes the job dead easy- no more grovelling about on your back with oil up your sleeve.
 BTW how's the car now?

not bad at all,mind you I'm after a 300E 24v (if I can get it),and that'll do do me.
The 230 is ok but it hasn't got any Oomph',well thats what I find anyway, but I suppose it'll have to do just now, mind you its a pitty you cant get a 16v head, now that'd be a bit quicker,I suppose I could also get it "chipped".
Or just save up a bit more and get the 300E 24v,now that'd nice!.

It's dead easy, Merc, you can feel the pipe hit the sump- there's nowt else in the way. Sorry to hear about the grief with the motors, hope you get sorted soon.

Hi will one of those oil removal pumps fit my 1993 2.0 190E Auto??

If so where can I get one / preferably online but good old Phone No. will do.....

I realy like the sound of not having to get under the car for an oil change.....
