Sunroof won't open 88 420sel

I would like to repair my sunroof,but I can't get it open.I have the instruction(from the manual on disc) but it says nothing about opening a stuck roof.Only one side(right) will lift unless I help by pushing from inside.It doesn't retract at all. :? I am ready to order parts but I want to make sure I order everything I need.

HELP!
