hallo . minor problem on the horizon, i think (trying to be positive) as some may know i dropped my 190 (wife hated her)in favour of the clk 270 and had been thoroughly enjoying the car minor probs sorted , now us blokes seem to have a sense when something is amiss and as the wife has commandered the car on a permanant basis ,i rarley get to have some fun, but this midweek i did and instantly after warm up there something amiss. so said as you do, haveyou noticed anything not right with the car ,( the look ? )

so here is the fault, when warm ,only time i've noticed at 2k revs i have a little on off surge.like lifting off the gas a little then putting it back on or like the slow change up the box when you are a low revs

cant feel or see a leak ticks over fine goes fine although i think she is a little sluggish, you would not know unless you like some fun .thats when i noticed a little brown smoke on a hard push

the missus drives in town so i,ve told her to run 3rd in slow traffic helps fuel consumption and less coking .which she does

so there it is i have look on forum can't say anything jumps out . therefore any imput to this situation will greatl help

Check boost hoses for leaks (you'll probably need to remove them to check properly).
EGR could be dirty.
Intercooler may have a small leak.

managed to drive today , temp about 40 degree engine pottering in 3rd uphill road clear used a little right foot hardish ,but not stupid black smoke . done the same on the way back distance approx same no smoke temp up only a touch

ithink a little acetone cleaner and a run cause today did not seem to surge
im doing a 40 mile there and back tomorrow see if i can blow it out
