Hi,
Would anyone have the correct torque settings for the rear suspension strut control arms?
I've just replaced the hub carrier and the top (camber adjustment) control arm and need the correct torque settings to get it all tightened up and back on the road.
Many thanks
Colin

with the exception of modern fragile engine's (re head gaskets and con rods) OR very small <3mm threads, its pretty obvious how tight you do things up - and if worried then for a given thread size and material type loads of info about the right torque available on the internet... if that's still not enough, one should question if up to the job

about a million times more important (that virtually 100% of main dealers and indies do wrong) is to bolt up the suspension components when its all dangling on a two poster ramp - this means as soon as the weight of the car is on the ground you have effectively bottomed out the suspension - thus going over any bump where the suspension deflects close to full travel far exceeds it design spec and this tears the replacement components rubber bushes to shreds very quickly

the only phase and specialist info you need is "mid-laden position" and fitting the adjustable washers so you can get it pointing in the correct direction, which is more than Mercedes bothered with when making it first time round
