I have recently fitted some larger wheels and tyres to my 1994 E300TD, generally they are fine, except the o/s/f tyre sometimes rubs on the rear lower edge of the wing when going over bumps, the o/s/r [sometimes] sits/rides 1" lower than the n/s,my thoughts are that the rear is dragging the front down, it has had new rear springs and lower wishbones fitted by the previous owner and the hydraulic struts are not leaking, I have just noticed that the o/s hydraulic pipe has been crushed flat where it turns to go up over the subframe,I suspect a spanner or lever has slipped during a previous operation, could this be causing my problem???

yes that could easily be the problem - the pipes cost about £5 each from the dealer but don't forget you'll have to replace the fluid - that's about £17 to refill the system properly
