Suspension - Link arms?

I have had a knocking(ish) noise from front when driving and going over even small dips in the road for the past few months. Car was up for MOT yesterday and passed with no problems. A friend says it could be "link arms" if the 220 CDI coupe has them? Says they are cheap and an easy job to fix. Would anyone know if there are link arms on this model?

Hi Television.

It's a C220 CDI Sports Coupe (2003).

The rod 50 in the link should be checked for any play in the jonits, best checked by levering with a iron bar,. looking for any play it the ball joints.

The rubber bushes 20 in the link may have worn away.

I too have recently aquired the same sort of knock... My part 20 has such a huge gap that illegal immigrants could stow away in it...

Greasing that bush when fitting would prolong the life of it, also sanding the bar clean where it passes through the bush

In my case, job for the mechanic !! Wouldn't trust it if I did it myself.....:cry:
