After the switch from ABC to coilovers on my SL 500 it occurred to me I needed to notify the insurance company, in my case Hastings. I called them and after checking they cancelled my policy with seven days notice. Finding a new company isn't a problem, but with coilover conversions becoming common on SLs its worth bearing in mind it may invalidate your policy if you need to claim.

You also now need to declare you’ve had insurance cancelled… :(

That only ever does one thing to the cost of insurance, and it’s not “make it cheaper”…:(

That's not what insurers are looking for when they ask this question. Your insurer won't allow the modification - that's different. You'll be fine @noonboots.
