I know this has been asked probably lots before but on w211 on 2006 model year estate. N/s/r the suspension will drop after couple days, I have attached photo, is their a way to see if the air is leaking or are air lines common to go? Or could it be level sensor?
Also can I jack the old girl up on the rear diff? So can get under it as working on the floor.
Sorry for all the questions your help guys has been very helpful. Many thanks in advance

Is it rising when you start the car.
As above generally.
Some leaks are hard to see due to porous rubber sleeves.
Do check the lines to the air struts. Most likely to be the struts.

Does the vehicle normally have weight on axle for this to become apparent when using soapy water? And also blobcat is it OK to jack the car on the rear diff?
Thanks for reply

Whether or not, I assume you intend to support the car on more than just the jack before you go underneath?

In all probability at that age of car it will be rear airbag failure as the pump is obviously working. If it’s the original pump you can get a refurbished kit (piston seal etc) from ‘Bagpipingandy’ on eBay of from his website. You have a choice of airbag supplier, MB, and Arnott. The airlines can chafe so check the lines as said with soapy water but my bet is a split airbag.

As above do support the car on axle stands

I Jack both cars under the rear diff , my large Jack has a decent rubber pad on the top . Then I put axle stands in place . Don’t forget to chock the front wheels when you Jack up the rear .

I have noticed with the car it drops most times but then can it stay up once moved around for days until you open doors as been working on the inside seems very strange. Still think bags?
Sorry new to mercedes life seems very well built car. Apart from suspension at moment

The bags leak dependent on how irregular the ground the car is parked on sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t
