When I bought my CL the dealer gave it a coat of Swissvax wax which looks pretty outstanding and seems to last well although I don't know which wax it was.

Has anybody used Swissvax Sindelfingen which is supposed to be for Mercedes paint?

I'm not an expert and have not used Swissvax but it sounds like marketing hype. There are 1000s of good paint protection products out there & I'm not convinced that we need a specific MB paint wax product.

Years ago I knew a guy that sold industrial floor waxes (the stuff they put on floors in hospitals etc with those big floor buffers). His customers liked his product but wanted something "better". The manufacturer added a colourant, changed the perfume/smell, gave it a new name and charged more. The customers were thrilled.

What turns it from £30 to £148? I've read some of their spiel and apparently they have a "better" carnauba wax!

I had a special bag of it all in my 911, it came with it as part of the “annual bonus price” for the original owner.

I've tried Swissvax Onyx wax which at the time was about £75 for a normal pot, it was no better than AG HD wax that I bought for £25 for the same size pot. However, as with any car care product, preparation is everything. In those days I did the full bifta of wash - dry - decontaminate - wash - clay - DA paint correct - DA polish - wax. Still have the tools and many bottles of jollop but no inclination to do the same these days, too much like hard work! Might get slightly enthusiastic with the SLK when I get it back and DA her with 3M Perfect-it polish then AG HD wax, but these days that will take ma e couple of days!

Good lord, 995 for a pot of wax.
For those with more money than conceivable sense.

Back when I was the biggest Swissvax reseller in the UK, they sold 1 wax for all German paint, as it was made by Glasurit and they all used the same paint. That wax was Zuffenhausen and about £60 (?).
Swissvax waxes have risen exhorably, with more special waxes coming out every year. Personally, I have found Race Glaze 55 every bit as good as Best of Show which is now a ludicrous £240. 55 is £68.
I'd rather spend the difference on fuel.

My car was pre-owned, not from an MB dealer.

All in the prep work before any sealants / waxes are applied.
