Without wishing to sound nasty, or state the obvious, but if your mechanical knowledge is not sufficient enough,  to be able to work this out for yourself, then should you in fact be tackling the job in the first place????????????

Also, people post replies on here because they want to, not because they HAVE to!!

Dave

What I meant was, I know the ****** thing comes out,I just didnt know what way you went "in" to get it,eg- from the front (prising it out),or the back, like either having to lift off the top of the dash and puting your hand down (if it can be reached that way),or from underneath (where the pedals are)and trying to go up to it.
Because I just dont want to start prising it out the dash trying to get it out the way I would think logical (from the front) because maybe Merc didnt design it that way I dont know!!.Y'see how the h*ll
are you suppose to know how to do something when you haven't had that type of car before.I know with the Astra and such yes I just "prised" it out,so like I said above, does it just prise out (I dont ****** know) and also I didnt want to mark anything (if I can help it) in the proccess.
And as for my mechanical competence, like Iv'e said in previous letters,I know a h*ll
of alot more about bikes than I might ever know about cars, but youv'e got to "find your feet" haven't you!!!!!!.I mean all I did was ask a damm question, cause' I didnt want to mark my dash doing something that I thought would have been the logical way, some ****** help forum this at times, all I seem to get (at times) is slagged for asking things, and all I meant when I said about "surely someone would know",is just simply that, someone would know how to do it without damaging things thats all, honest to god!.

Merc.

I think you will find that with a good yank, the switch will come off the stalk to reveal a nut...undo this nut and hey presto...the switch is out.

and i know what you mean, i hate damaging dashboards when doing something like that

Ding Ding round one!!!!

Merc. im not having a go at you or anything, so please dont think i am, as we all know how frustrating out beloved Motor's can be.

However just for the sake of politeness, please try to keep the swearing to a miniumum. That way, i guarantee more people will be willing to add to your questions.

As i say, im not having a go, just a bit of friendly advice.

And remember, we do have 2 people who monitor the forum, and they can refuse to let you post anything if they want to. And no one wants to see that happen.

So Stop F**cking swearing!!!!!!! (JOKE)

Cheers!!

Hi Matt

yea, cheers!,but I only swore twice (and thats good for me!,he,he) in my reply to dave.
Yea I know I'll to calm things a bit,but its very frustrating when you get replies like that!.
And,no! I dont want kicked off the forum, cause' I have found it very helpfull and will again in the future, when no doubt something else will happen. It really is great when you have something like this to "fall back on" especially when you dont have a manual (yet),what I should do is (in my case) count to about 100 instead of the usual 10.
Anyway I'm off to put my bulbs in,Mark also call me this morning to tell me how to remove the heater panel,as I have to replace bulbs there also,so once again thanks for the "info",cheers.

Regards
