Hi,

I was doing some unrelated work on the clutch recently, when I noticed electric switch on the clutch pedal. This is a switch similar in size and in position to the one for the brake light on the brake pedal.

I am not what is the purpose of the switch on the clutch pedal. Could anyone shed some light?

Thanks and Regards,

if your car has cruise control on it, it dis engages it when the clutch is depressed so not to over rev the engine.

Thanks.
My car has no cruise control.
Possibly the switch is for cruise control and it is installed as standard on all cars.
