Hi all
I have just become the proud owner of a 2001 C240, which I have just rescued from the neglect my dad subjected it to. He purchased a Lexus GS300 in early 05 & the C240 has sat, unloved on his driveway ever since. I told him a couple of weeks ago that it was criminal to leave it rot & just give it a quick run occasionally so he told me: If you can get it going, you can have it.
Que 1 new battery & she started up first time no problem (of course I didn't tell him that the reason the batt went flat was that he'd left an interior light on!). She has some issues, a broken spring in the rear, slight knocking noise in front, tracking awful & a new tyre needed & the stereo has died, but I have faith & you don't say no to a free merc. My wonderful mechanic swears she'll be fixed for much less than what it would have cost me to buy. Best of all it means I can get rid of my granny wagon (2002 1.5 Nissan Almera - officially the most boring car on the earth).
Anyway just thought an intro was in order.
