Takeover my lease

I could really do with some help. I have had my CLS 320cdi for the last 11 months but during that time have had twin girls!! The car would have been fantastic for one baby but two have really put a strain on boot space. I lease the car and early termination is over £9000 which really isn't a good idea. As such, i am looking for someone to take over the last 13 months of my lease. Mercedes only want £75+vat to transfer it but the new owner would be subject to a credit check.

Anybody know anyone or got any ideas?

Thanks

How much are we talking about per month ? I might know someone who may be intrested (son in law) he is seriously looking at buying one in the very near future.

£536 including the vat - i have paid the deposit so it is an absolute bargain for someone. the only cost would be the transfer fee of £75+vat

We should do more of this, just for the variety. :D It's very common in the US, apparently, where many new cars are leased.

agreed - it does seem mad that people can't benefit from others having already paid a lot of the lease. Surely there someone can find me a taker...please

Is it a standard lease agreement or is there a purchase element built in -- mind you I can't quite understand why the early termination should be over £9k when there are only 13 x £536 payments outstanding

It is a standard lease. in other words, you just give the car back at the end of the contract without the option to buy. Spoke to Mercedes after my post and they agreed that £9k was steep and re jigged it to only £6613!!!! Still seems a lot to then not have a car...

Hello,

Sounds daft that you would have to pay £6613 and give the car back? keeping it the remaining 13 months would be £6968 ??

Could you advertise it on piston heads or similar.

I know - I cannot think why anyone would do it. Good idea for PistonHeads - I may put something on there. Thanks

The other crucial things to know are the mileages - what is the contact mileage, what's it on now, and what's the excess mileage penalty.
Does it include maint? If not, has it got a big (expensive) service, and a set of tyres coming up?

Just as a matter of interest, how much deposit did you pay? I'm thinking that you've had the pleasure of having a new car yet you're hoping someone will take it on as used for the same cost. (If you put several £K down, then fair enough).

OK - heres all the details. It is on a 3+23 deal so I had to pay 1608 initially plus I had to get the sensors fitted which I think was about 600. The car has only done 6300 miles since new so is really not even run in yet. The contract is based on 10,000 miles a year so their is over a 1000 miles a month available until the end. In terms of services, it hasn't had any yet and the indicator is saying the first is due in 10,000 miles so I guess it will need one before the end of the contract. Tyres are fine as you would expect and it is on 17's so not outrageous to replace.

It is the standard cls 320cdi. The only extras are black leather seats and parking sensors front and rear. The car is silver and has the darker shinier wood inside.

As this thread is 2 years old and he only had 13 months left, I guess it's not a problem anymore.
