Tapping Noise???

Hi everyone

My 300E is tapping a the top of the engine?

It doesn't do it at all when it's cold, just when it is warmed up,

It doesn't seem to be getting any worse but it is quite annoying but not excessively loud. It's also in time with the revs

I have flushed and put in some standard 10/40 and some valve lifter treatment but not much joy.

It sounds like worn tappets. When the oil is cold it doesn't leak past the tappets. Once warmed up, the oil is leaking past enough to cause the noise.

There are a lot of tappets to change on your engine though.
