carried out by an approved Diamondbrite applicator is now covered by a lifetime guarantee from the date the product is applied.
(provided you keep topping it up). I suspect my car wax has a lifetime guarantee if I reappy monthly.

Once treated with Diamondbrite, you'll never have to polish your car again. Your vehicle will look as good as it did when it left the showroom, thereby improving its resale value.

Can someone please explain what possible effect this would have on resale value? You, or a selling dealer can just pop some cheap polish on and it will be precisely the same.

When i told he dealership it had been treated with Diamonbrite he upped the trade in price by 150 ...

Love the effect it has ...

I entirely agree Brian, but it may no longer be the least expensive option! :(

Tar is a petroleum based product, you can do it with 95 ron Alex, it does not need 98ron

Simply use Auto Smart Tardis as in the previous post. Its used by garages and the pros world wide, its completely safe. Apply neat with a soft cloth, heavy deposits may need a second application, then rinse off with your usual shampoo. Now apply your usual wax to add protection. A 5 gallon tin will last you years too!

Jewlultra (suppliers of Diamondbrite) were decent enough to send a rep to my house to discuss my assessment of Diamondbrite.
Firstly tar removal - they had recommended using the Diamondbrite conserver neat; I had tried this but it only removed the tar after a lot of effort. The rep gave me a sample of Jewelultra's Tar & Glue remover - tried it and it works quickly with apparently no detriment to the Diamondbrite coating.
Second - I had raised the point that with DB coating, a pressure washer does NOT simply remove the dirt on the car as I had found. Instead the rep recommended a non-caustic traffic film remover, then pressure wash off followed by washing with DB shampoo and a mitt. Dirt did seem to be easier to remove with the DB coating. Once a month the conserver goes on and this is just a mitt with conserver in a bucket followed by a rinse off and a microfibre dry. Conserver allows the lifetime warranty for the DB coating to be maintained.
So far the car remains shiny and it has had no wax, just the DB finish.
So far so good!

An update. My car is almost a year old. The Diamondbrite was applied when new. Refer to my previous posts in this thread for the method of application and regular washing. Now after one year of use and treatment, when washed the car does still gleam. I was concerned that a white car would require more cleaning and would be a pain to own; sure it gets dirty but lovely to see a nice glossy car after washing. It has removed the effort of having to wax the car.

Hmm... a year old car still looking pristine after a wash.. now where have I ever seen that before..
The diamondbrite ..3 stage polish .. if I remember correctly, really is no more than a glorified wax and wash..yes it does contain polymers and teflon and all the slippery things on the market.. But my opinon is that none are as slippery as the salesman who try and off load this stufff....
It was big big news over 20 years ago...it seems to have made a comeback,

Just park your car on a Surrey road for a bit.

None of them seem to have any tar left on.

I am not trying to promote the product at all. I do know that after a year a car looks much better and beads water better if it has a quality wax rather than just a shampoo wash. My point is that the diamondbrite on my car does all that without the effort of waxing. However I certainly would not pay what dealers try to charge customers!

I have put diamondbrite on a car before and it's just a double polish sealant combo, which can be better done with something like collinite or jet seal to be honest. The stuff you apply monthly is jus extra wax...

It's the biggest snake oil sales trick in the book.. Ok if you don't pay for it but a big con otherwise !!

Mainly due to having no time recently the s211 I bought in December 2011 hasn't been polished or waxed once since I got it. ( a miracle for me!) I not joking but after washing it properly and drying off nicely it shines like a freshly polished car, and I have covered 40k miles in 15 months!!!

The paint going dull thing is complete b/s as modern cars are lacquered even if a non metallic colour and fading is a nonsense as they can't ......

My lotus on the other hand gets waxed with nattys paste wax and smells of bubblegum

I must admit that the thought had crossed my mind that modern paint & lacquer finishes may now only require a shampoo to keep a gloss finish. Maybe the days of wax or polymer sealants have gone?

Nano paint is applied on the bare shell and it is ceramic based and fired at over 400c, so little to be gained I think these days in other protection systems.

I have a feeling that with the latest paint protection, shampooing is enough to maintain a shine without bothering with additional nano sealants or indeed waxing. Is waxing useful nowadays?

Must admit a freshly waxed car with rain bubbles on it is cool:cool:

If you think of this as a china cup, we know that porcelain will stain with tea. Ceramics have been used as insulators and they will discolour, and all these things will clean up with a good hot wash with possibly a little scouring as well.

I have one plate that I use for fish in the microwave. No normal washing will remove the film that is left and a scourer pad has to be used.

So I would still give the finish some protection to stop it from staining and to help keep away that film that can adhere to it.

Once polished and waxed, this does stop things from sticking to it.
