Hello,

I want to remove the trim from the rearmost side windows of my E280 estate - the trim that runs above the window and down the rear edge (it needs painting).
Before I break it or the window trying to prize it off could someone tell me how it should be done?
Thanks Toby

I don't know how to do it and neither does anybody else..... it seems.
Can you post a couple of photos so that we can see exactly what you are referring to.
There are usually clips in these Damn parts ,which if not manhandled correctly will break.
You might want to try levering off gently with a thin flat head screw driver to ascertain the binding points. When you establish the fastening points you can try levering the screw driver head directly under one of these points to prise off. You then move to the next one nearest to the last one you undid. Use a rag or flat rubber as the contact point for the screwdriver to avoid scratching the paintwork. Be careful to keep your face and other bodily parts away fom where you are prising. The screwdriver head can slip off under load and become deadly. This should be the first priority that you do not injure yourself in the process. It is best to test the waters gently and work up the pressure slowly.
