Thought this might help someone at sometime.

http://www.alldata.com/tsb/Mercedes-Benz/index-issue.html

This gives all the TSBs for MB vehicles. The link was given to me by an insider at MBUK to help resolve a problem the local dealer said didn't exist. I was able to prove that the problem was known given that there was a TSB.

Needless to say the service improved rapidly thereafter.

some of the numbers on Alldata don't correspond to the TSBs for RHD cars (e.g. the issues around "farting" SBS pumps on W/S211 are resolved differently in the UK as the pipes run a diferent route).

There are also a number of TSBs relating to Californis sepc cars that don't apply.

I agree though that the dealers are more likely to respond when they know that you already KNOW there is a solution to your issue.

Shame there isn't a UK Alldata equivalent - I have a subscription for my W124 but had to learn and then remember to disregard all the stuff about EGR, electronic throttle, LHD location of components, air pump, trouble code LED etc etc that doesn't apply to my UK car.

Steve, surely your E320 does have an airpump. It's belt driven and the main pipe goes into the left of the cylinder head.

No, not on mine. It has a shorter polybelt as there's no pump! Haynes show polybelt routing with and without the pump so there must have been both variants around.

Its a Sept 95 320CE.

Malcolm,

If I'm ever unemployed and get sick of daytime tv (although cbeebies is always good value), I might try to categorise the TSBs by model.

However, I'm hoping that this doesn't happen in the near future, so we might just have to trawl through the index and try to find something that does fits the problem.

Hope you get some satisfaction from the database though. I have to say that as soon as the dealer realises that you have a contact on the inside the service is very different.

Regards

Sanny

Thanks for posting this. Do you know if the numbering used is the same for UK TSB's?

Steve is correct as no airpump on my 1995 either.

However Steve you are incorrect regarding no electronic throttle control in UK.
Models fitted with the optional ASR system of anti-slip control are "drive by wire" ie. no throttle cable - all electronic throttle.

I meant Alldata doesn't cover non-electronic throttle models

Sorry but I don't know if the numbering is the same. I can only reiterate how much easier, the TSB made my life when dealing with a tailgate problem on my new ML. The dealer was adamant that there was no fault and subsequently have had to undertake a whole lot of warranty work when I managed to replicate the fault having shown them the TSB.
