Hello all....

I have a bit of a problem with the in car telephone system. I have recently fitted the full kit from a 2002 S Class into my facelift 2003 car.

I installed the D2B fibre ring, the control box under the seat and joined in all of the necessary cables for power etc. that were on the loom.

There was however, no socket or wires for a microphone and now that I have installed everything into the car; bought a nokia 6210 and the whole thing is working (on the screen, and on the dash) I can ring people (sound through speakers etc) but no one can hear me!!

How do I find where the microphone is supposed to go when there was no where for it to plug in!!??

Help please

Thank you

Barry

Usually the mics are in the RVM. Check the underside, there should be 4 small grills

I don't think there is a MB retro-fit for mics...

They are part of the RVM, so possibly just fit a suitable RVM?

Retro-fits of MB phone kits and Linguatronic use stand alone misc attached to the headlining and A pillar

Yes I've seen the retro fit kits but I can't find anywhere on the module (under back seat with fibre connection) to plug a mic into. Also nothing on the wiring or on the cradle etc.

I will check the RVM tomorrow because I have fitted a full harnes and fibre from a 2002 car into my 2003 facelift car. There was some prewiring in the 2003 car which was taped up behind the radio. One was a small 2 pin plug with greeny wires and the other was the antenna cable to the rear roof antenna. Would it be possible to scrap what I have fitted and stick something to the pre-wiring that was already in?

Either way is fine but either way I need a microphone to speak! The sound from the kit is good as is the signal strength; unfortunately no one can hear me speaking!

Thanks again for the responses

PS, Malcolm, any joy with the tv wiring from 2002 tuner to 2003 widescreen DX nav head unit!?

Thanks

Just been out and taken out the overhead console. Behind there is a small black cable( 2 core and very similar in size to a microphone cable) there is a small 2 way black plug on the end. The plug was wrapped in foam. Could this be the mic cable and do Merc do a plug in mic for the roof console?

Thanks

Got them thanks.... part ordered!!

The TV stuff I needed was a wiring diagram to connect the TV tuner from a 2002 S Class to my 2003 Facelift S Class with the DX widescreen head unit.

You said you may have a wiring diagram showing which pin on the tuner would go to which pin on the C21 connector at the head unit

Thanks again Malcolm

I tried the cable wrapped in foam and tried pushing the ends of the cable from a nokia microphone I had in the garage. Nothing happened and the person on the other end couldn't hear me. It may not be quite so easy as just connecting the mic up after all.

Maybe back to the cables behind the radio. I have an antenna cable and a green pair of cables which terminate into a black plug which may plug into a control box or something? Anyone help? Would it be worth me putting a picture up?

I really do need to get the phone working in this car and I don't want to bolt on a parrott system when the car has its own built in!

If the mike is an electoet there are 3 wires and it needs a voltage to drive it
