I have a W220 with the Nokia 6320i cradle for the telephone, however when I plug a phone in the unit shows "Tel not plugged in" in the display. I have checked the cradle and it looks in good condition, the phone works in a cradle I have in another car.

I would really like to get a bluetooth unit for the cradle but Im now wondering how much cost it will be to replace the phone unit if it is faulty.

Try disconnecting the cradle to dissipate any static. Once reconnected, it should work properly. This works for me. tell us if it works for you too - others are skeptical!

You would have to dismantle the box to get to any connections

Is this the first time you have tried the phone? The earlier W220 came with the Nokia 6210. Also what year is the car?

The production date is 12/07/2002 so would this make it the Nokia 6210 phone? I just wanted to find a phone so I can test the kit still works before I buy a bluetooth adapter for it.

Ive had a look on Ebay but they still cost a few quid even now for the phone!

The telephone module do down on the 220 often giving the message No Phone, at the same time they can knock out the the hands free function on the 6210 and 6310i phones.

I have 2 phones here where a 220 did that, If I can get that re activated you are welcome to borrow one, but it will take a little time to see if that can be done

That is about the same build date as my S320. Originally came with a Nokia 6210. I upgraded the PSE so that I could use the 6310i. The 6210 is not that expensive on ebay:
