Now and again I drive the car (it’s the wife’s) and today I noticed that the temp took a while to warm up . Does anyone else own a B170 petrol and can confirm the gauge should be around the 80 degrees or more when driving around town.
I guess as the car is on 61k and is 14 years old I’ll probably end up just ordering a new thermostat and seal and change it.

This was after I had travelled around 4 miles

Then this one shows it had dropped after I’d got some speed up and over cooling had had a chance to do its job

It should be higher and get to temp within 15 mins. Most likely the thermostat will have failed. Get it fixed as the car will think it’s cold so will over fuel

Thanks for the replies

Just found a febi bilstein thermostat on eBay , I have used them before and the quality is pretty good so I’ll go with that .

The Bclass sits around 80 degrees like the a class, however I’d agree that is low and likely worth swapping out the thermostat and a change of coolant will also be good

Hi everyone, hope its still active as e thread
I have a Aclass 2009 and the temp stays 92-95 and it creeps toward 100 sometimes when stuck in traffic
it stays between 80 and 100 all the time. so i dont think it should stay at 80 or maybe my cluster is a little off
