i bought 1991 500sl last week just found this forum..fantastic!!!
my first time and need help. outside temp reading is malfunctioning. its correct when engine is cold but warms up to 30+degrees when engine is warm i think it may have become dislodged?????? where is it positioned so i can check.. many thanks

I had a similar problem with my CLK; earthing problem seems to have been a strong possibility. Never got to know the precise reason. Left a printout of a reply from this forum with the garage and after 2 /3 trips to M-B in G Manchester they fixed the problem at last. Had been told it was a faulty sensor, then replaced, but this was said to be faulty as well (oh really!!); strange how it was fixed when I left the printout with them.
