Test for you

Ok, I think i may have asked this already, but here is a test for you.

124, 300te, when pressing the brake pedal the ABS lamp comes on and stays on until the ignition is switched off and on again. Everything has been changed from another good car up to and including the ABS pump unit. all connections checked, all readings from wheel sensors ok, strange thing was the ABS was working ok otherwise. Much head scratching and studying of wiring diagrams later the answer came to us while having a tea break, took around 2 minutes to fix.

Switch ok, both bulbs coming on.

Clue....car had recently had a new speedo cable fitted

so whitch silly sod put the bulb out warning or pad warning light in the wrong hole then!!

Spot on, bulbs were working but on closer examination 25w on one side 10w on other bringing on bulb fail which someone had stuck in the abs hole.Glad to see the back of that one.
